“A BIG thank you for delivering a great maths activities day at Northolt High school for the yr 7 and Yr 8. The feedback that I received from both pupils and staff were all positive!”
Maths Workshops, Northolt High School
“You helped us understand the play in an unusual but fun way. You really inspired me to read Macbeth and your energy made me want to do something similar to what you are doing in future. I really hope you can visit our school again.”
Shakespeare Workshop, Pupil, Pedmore Technology College“The staff loved watching students who they typically define as disinterested getting more engaged in the ‘human sculptures’ activities than they would a traditional English lesson. The students gained the knowledge that English can be more interesting than it is traditionally presented to them in schools. I found it interesting how easily they were able to decipher the themes and text, guided by Jo. The themes of power and magic are subjects which can continue to be built upon in future years as the students start to study Macbeth at GCSE level, and the workshop was a perfect entry point for that. I have had several students and staff approach me to discuss how successful the workshops were and how we would love to do it again in the future.”
Shakespeare Workshop, Cowley International College“All year groups and ages had a fabulous day. All were fully engaged and immersed in the story. Many skills developed- speaking and listening, creative skills- drama, role play, story telling, performing to an audience, enhanced reading and writing skills. We cannot thank you enough. The whole school had a great day and our learning was interactive, fun and engaging.”

On speaking to the children, they told me they had “so much fun” doing their activities. Children understood that maths is not just about working out numbers on a page but can be engaging and is in the World around us everywhere. Parents who attended the workshop have fed back that they couldn’t believe how they were looking at the outside World differently on their drive home.”
Family Maths, Leverstock Green C of E Primary School“A huge thank you, for an amazing day, enjoyed by all. This day served as a platform to build our STEM Week on, which got all the children enthused from the onset. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed the workshops and the assembly and learned so much from them. All the children were engaged on their tasks; the work itself, both served to support and stretch, enabling all children to be involved.”

I was so impressed and surprised that they knew all the characters and complex relationships after a 90 min session. It has given us a great springboard for some fantastic writing. Our parents have also been pleasantly surprised that we have been introducing our younger children to Shakespeare. I would just like to say a huge thank you to Jo, her passion and knowledge was amazing and the children gained so much from working with her.”
Holy Trinity Primary School
“The children LOVED the workshop. They raved about the session afterwards and talked about what they had done well into the following week. The activities that Jo chose fit in perfectly with the English curriculum and the English sessions which we had already completed with year 6. She built on the children’s prior knowledge and extended their learning further, whilst keeping the activities fun and engaging. We loved the sessions and would love to use As Creatives again during our Shakespeare topic next year.”

“The visit yesterday was amazing, Bookman was a fabulous start to the day with his assembly, which really caught the kids’ imagination. I had staff coming to tell me they were shocked when he burst forth from the cupboard and surprised the hall. He was brilliant – and I’m especially impressed that he managed to work with children ranging from reception to Year 6s and entertained them all. It’s created a great buzz around the school about reading which is brilliant in the week of world book day.”

“Ady was absolutely brilliant with all the groups he had during our science day. The nursery staff were so impressed that he kept their class spellbound for a whole hour! We would love to work with you again.”
Science Workshops, The Gleddings Prep School
The children learnt how prevalent maths is within the world in which we live, particularly based on things that they do every single day. They realised how all aspects of maths work together during problem-solving to enable them to solve the problems and crack the codes. Even areas of the maths that we have yet to cover, the children were able to use their prior maths learning to help inform their judgements and answers. Delivery was excellent and the children absolutely loved the workshop – thank you.
CSI: Maths Workshops, Cobham Primary School
“I would like to thank Ady again for delivering the workshops. His own enthusiasm for science shone through from the start to the end of day. The fact that the lessons were active and fun enabled the children to learn in a more physical way than that of the normal classroom-based teaching of science. This has given some of the teachers ideas for their own way of teaching science for future lessons. I would definitely recommend As Creatives to fellow teachers.”
Big Science Day, Heath Fields Primary“There was a definite buzz from the pupils. They enjoyed being outside and using their maths skills. It was clear that the students were using a wide range of maths skills, from numeracy to reasoning, without realising it. I was particularly delighted to see my Year 4 children using measuring skills, data handling, problem-solving, shape, which I have taught so far this year and using appropriate vocabulary and ‘maths talk’. It made maths come more alive for them. Thank you again for the excellent service provided.”

Each workshop was tailor-made for specific ages so that the whole school was reached and could access the activities. Learning about Scientists and Inventors through Drama meant that this important part of the curriculum was delivered in an engaging way – a part of the curriculum that can sometimes be a little dry. They enjoyed the way they were interactive and could get moving in a fun way but were still learning! The children gained knowledge about the kings and queens throughout history within the UK within the whole school assembly and then went on to discover more about the time within a topic in year groups. These were fantastic as there were links to their current and prior knowledge and historical understanding. We’ll be looking to book more workshops in the future. “The students loved the workshops. Staff and pupil feedback was very positive. Children particularly loved the explorer statues that they were asked to make. By the time Chris and Zoe came in, the children already had a fairly good grounding in relation to their explorer. What was impressive though is that you had clearly done a lot of research because Chris and Zoe were able to teach them new things or make links to other aspects eg nationality. You’ve made a very positive impression and I am sure we will be inviting you back to St George’s in some guise in the future.”
