May 2025 will mark eighty years since VE Day – when the nation united in rejoicing at the end of the War in Europe. It’s a day that will forever go down in history. So why not mark this momentous anniversary in your community with our Big History Day, 80 Years Since VE Day workshops?
VE Day Community Outreach Workshops
Able to accommodate up to 30 participants at a time, these 45 minute, highly interactive and engaging drama-based workshops explore what VE Day was and why it was important – and then continue on one of two lines…
Age Range 5 – 8:The VE Day Experience:
How did people get to the VE Day celebrations? What did they wear? And what did they eat?
Age Range 9+: VE Day and Beyond:
Where did people go to celebrate VE Day? How did Buckingham Palace join in with the celebrations? What did people hope the world would be like after VE Day? Did those dreams come true?
How Does it Work?
A member of our team can deliver up to four workshops in a day – and you can, of course, mix and match workshops across both age ranges. All you will need to provide will be a large and appropriate space, a screen, a projector and a computer/laptop with a USB port (if your venue doesn’t allow USBs, we will send you the PowerPoints in advance).
There are no costumes, props or artefacts in a History Through Drama Day. Instead, everything is achieved through age-appropriate drama-based activities, imagination - and, of course, lots of historical content!
