Climate change is the biggest challenge the world faces – so The Regeneration Generation explores what climate change “is”, what causes it, why it’s important, what individuals can do about it – and, crucially, why some solutions aren’t as straightforward as they might firsts seem. And students will be introduced to arguably the world’s first climate change scientist: Eunice Newton Foote.
Workshop Description
Accommodating up to 60 students at a time, in workshops lasting anything from a single lesson to a full day, The Regeneration Generation – Saving Planet Earth starts with an interactive exploration of what climate change “is”, what causes it – and its impacts. Working in a variety of groupings, students then participate in a range of age-appropriate, drama-based activities to investigate and interrogate some potential local solutions to a global problem – from what we wear, to how we shop to how we travel. And they’ll look too at the concept of climate change inequality: the idea that the “developed world” is expecting other nations to pay the price.
