Climate change is the biggest challenge the world faces – so The Regeneration Generation explores what climate change “is”, what causes it, why it’s important, what individuals can do about it – and, crucially, why some solutions aren’t as straightforward as they might firsts seem. And students will be introduced to arguably the world’s first climate change scientist: Eunice Newton Foote.
Workshop Description
Accommodating the whole of up to a two-form entry school in just a single day, The Regeneration Generation – Saving Planet Earth starts with a whole-school assembly looking at what climate change is, what it does and where it comes from. This leads into a series of drama-based workshops in which each year group tackles its own “regeneration” question – seeking everyday, local solutions to a global problem.
EYFS/ P1: Regeneration at Home - what can we do at home to help save Planet Earth?
Year 1/ P2: Dressing for Regeneration - how can what we wear help save Planet Earth?
Year 2/ P3: Regeneration Journeys – how can the way we travel help save Planet Earth?
Year 3/ P4: Shopping for Regeneration - how can what we buy (and where we shop) help combat climate change?
Year 4/ P5: Eating for Regeneration – how can what we eat (and where we buy our food) help combat climate change?
Year 5/ P6: Recycling to Regenerate - how can recycling help combat climate change? And what does it look like in practice?
Year 6/ P7: Regeneration Persuasion - how can we look beyond the obvious to persuade the world to combat climate change?
