Is your school taking part in Maths Week London this year? Maths Week London aims to raise the profile of maths in the London community, improve children’s attitude towards maths and promote the value of maths as an essential skill.
You will find lots of information about how to get involved, along with free resources on the Maths Week London website www.mathsweeklondon.org/
Furthermore, to support and encourage schools to run their own activities and events, the Mayor’s Fund for London is running a small grants scheme on behalf of Maths Week London for London-based schools to access. Each school has the opportunity to bid for up to £250. You can find out more about this grant and how to apply by visiting www.mayorsfundforlondon.org.uk/maths-week-london/
If you are interested in hosting an As Creatives Maths day in your school during Maths Week London then please get in touch as we would love to hear from you!
Our range of workshops on offer includes the incredibly popular The Pirate's Challenge, Race into Space and The Riddle of the Sphinx and for secondary schools The Trading Games and CSI: Bake Off.
Family Maths workshops provide a fun environment in which parents/carers can work with their children in exploring why maths is important, what maths means in the 21st century - and how easy it is to find everyday opportunities to indulge in mathematical challenges.
