We were delighted to discover in early September we would be working with National Museums Liverpool to deliver a Titanic-themed visual arts programme.
On the Lookout explores the unique elemental world of the Titanic before its infamous sinking using a diverse range of visual media to bring to life the amazing world of Titanic itself, and the physical and emotional journeys of passengers and crew.
So far we have worked with primary and secondary teachers from across Liverpool in a series of interactive and hands-on taster sessions at the Maritime Museum Liverpool. Teachers have worked with us to create temporary fabric illustrations, monoprints and clay heads of passengers and crew. Next up is an extensive programme of activities working with teachers back at school, getting hands-on with children and young people to uncover the amazing secrets of Titanic and its lost world ...
I’ve been inspired to have a go at more “less structured” art as a starter/plenary! Year 2 Teacher
Brilliant Session. Loved the temporary picture. Will take it all back and use. Wanted more time to carry on! Year 5 teacher
In 2012 Liverpool will commemorate the 100 year anniversary since hundredth anniversary of the launch of Titanic with a very special weekend of events: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-15002744
