We love taking our Shakespeare programmes to schools all over the world, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed developing a new one with Year 7/S1 particularly in mind. Introducing Shakespeare is a fantastic (and very energetic!) way to engage your students in the playwright, his life and works - and prepare them for their studies to come.

In workshops lasting from two periods to half a day, students participate in a range of drama-based activities, using The Seven Ages of Man to explore Shakespeare’s life, The Tempest (or another play of your choice) to bring characters to life - and Twelfth Night (or another play of your choice) to look at ways that Shakespeare uses “motivation” to drive narrative. And you might like to consider extending the experience by challenging students to compete in our Shakespeare Balloon Debates, complete with our illustrated Character Studies!

“Thank you for the Introducing Shakespeare workshops that you delivered last week.  We all enjoyed them so much and it was a pleasure to watch you in action. Can we book you again for next year?” (Head of English, Macclesfield Academy)
